Pakistan Super League Season 5 has been a very good tournament so far . Most of the matches were single sided and few nail biters including the match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.
Multan Sultans Started their PSL 5 campaign with a victory against Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets . They faced defeat in their second match against Islamabad United , as Luke Ronchi clinched away the match from Multan by scoring 74 runs in 45 balls.
Multan Sultans won their third match against Peshawar Zalmi quite comprehensively by 6 wickets .
After first three matches , Multan Sultans stand at 1st position as their net run rate is +0.914 .
Multan Sultan's success is due to their solid performance in all departments but it won't be wrong to say that their strength lies in their bowling , as their spin department have two legends of the game , Shahid Afridi and Imran Tahir and their pace department have Muhammad Irfan and Sohail Tanveer , and the best thing is that all of them are in a good form .. Shahid Afridi is proving to be economical as always , whereas Sohail Tanveer is making sure to bowl amazingly well in the start overs as well as the death overs.. Rilee Rossouw and Khusdil Shah played an oustanding knock against Peshawar Zalmi which showed stabiity in the batting lineup as well.
Its just the start of Psl 5 , long way to go , so it would be difficult to predict whether Multan Sultans will make it to the qualifiers this year or not . But if they kept on performing in the same way , then it won't be wrong to say , that Multan Sultans can be a big challenge for all other teams in this season.
