Tokyo Olympics 2020: Arshad Nadeem and Talha Talib - The Heroes of Pakistan

The Olympics 2020 kicked off on 23rd July in Tokyo, Japan with 10 Pakistan's athletes Participating in 6 different sports. Arshad Nadeem represented Pakistan in Javelin throw competition whereas Talha Talib represented Pakistan in Men's 67kg Weightlifting Competition.
Arshad Nadeem in Javelin Throw Competition- Background, Achievements, Performance in Olympics
Arshad Nadeem has been competing in Javelin throw competitions around the world since 2015. He won a bronze medal in 2016 Asian Junior Athletics Championships and won a bronze medal in South Asian Games 2016, Islamic Solidarity Games 2017 and Asian Games 2018. Arshad Nadeem was a Gold Medalist in South Asian Games 2019 where his throw covered a record distance of 86.29m.
Arshad Nadeem started his Olympics Campaign by winning his group match in which his javelin throw covered a distance of 85.16m.
In the Final Match, he ended up his campaign at 5th position as his best javelin throw covered a distance of 84.62m whereas India's Neeraj Chopra secured a Gold Medal as his best throw covered a distance of 87.58m.
Arshad Nadeem deserve all the praises , as coming from a country where sports apart from cricket are ignored and lack in terms of infrastructure, equipment's, facilities and policies needed to become competitive in the world. The budget allotted to all other sports combined is not even 10 Percent of the overall budget of Cricket. Though, Pakistan Cricket Team does produce mind boggling performances, it is important to also invest in other sports to get the desired results.
Talha Talib in Olympics 2020- Performance in Olympics, Background, Achievements
Talha Talib participated in the weightlifting competition of Olympics 2020. He participted in CommonWealth Games 2018 and ended up with a bronze medal in it. He successfully lifted 283Kg to earn the bronze medal and that too at the age of 18.
Talha Talib ended at 5th position in Men's 67Kg and missed a bronze medal by just 2kg difference.
These two brought whole nation together and received praises from all over the world which they truly deserved.
Pakistan was not able to win any medal in Olympics 2020 this time, but the athletes of Pakistan managed to display immense hard-work and efforts in attempt to make Pakistan proud and for that they deserve all the love, support and praises and we hope, they will win medal for their country in future.
